Besides promoting top-notch artists, who are producing experimental electronic music (of which some have been featured in past print issues of ours), Italian Terraforma Festival is—as they state on their website—much concerned with issues related to sustainability. That is why the festival aims at “measuring, reporting and eventually reducing its impacts on nature and its resources”. On the watch are waste, water, energy, transportation and supplies—while there’s a special focus on waste at this year’s edition.
The festival takes place just outside ever-exciting Milano, in the historic garden of Villa Arconati, a rural Baroque-palace built in the 17th and 18th centuries. With its actions Terraforma Festival wants to help restoring said garden.
Back to music: this year’s edition happens in early July and features Biosphere, Donato Dozzy as well as Rabih Beaini & Vincent Moon on Friday (July 1st); Lee Gamble, Healing Force Project, Atom & Tobias and Sensate Focus on Saturday (July 2nd); and Adrian Sherwood, Beatrice Dillon and Primitive Art on Sunday (July 3rd).
