In case you wondered why the latest incarnation of our weekly playlist was kicking asses, it’s because we’ve only used material by artists featured in this year’s edition of WOS Festival. Being an interdisciplinary festival with a focus on music and sounds, WOS has presented a variety of persuasive line-ups since it’s formation in 2016.
It’s not just about the line-ups though. WOS has made a name for itself for presenting concerts and more in extraordinary locations: from a farmers market, over an 18th century church, to a city palace terrace—all of it in Santiago de Compostela’s city center, a place that was declared a World Heritage Site.
This year, the Santiago-de-Compostela-based affair hosts live and DJ sets as well as talks and film presentations. The line-up features artists such as upsammy [see zweikommasieben #18], Sofie Birch feat. Nana Pi, Grand River [see zweikommasieben #23] & Marco Ciceri, Ulla Strauss, Prison Religion, Holy Other [see zweikommasiebne #7] & Pedro Maia, Coby Sey, Caterina Barbieri [see zweikommasiebne #19], Aya [see zweikommasiebne #20] feat. Sweatmother, and Aho Ssan & KMRU; many of the sets are national premieres in Spain.
In case this hasn’t convinced you yet (which is hard to believe tbh), you get the opportunity to win 2 festival passes for the superb festival:
The winners will be informed by Tuesday September 6—just in time to book your plane ticket.
