Thinking of last year’s installment of Berlin Atonal two things come to mind. The first thing would be a terrible, terrible hang over, the second thing’s Peder Mannerfelt’s live-show. Mannerfelt both surprised and impressed the audience with some crazy psychedelic visuals and a well-thought dramaturgy. The concert definitely was one of the most spoken-about events during and after the festival.

Berlin Atonal Records is now to release an EP called Live at Berlin Atonal 2015 featuring selected live-cuts recorded during said concert. You can exclusively stream the live-version of “Lines Describing A Circle” here:

Berlin Atonal Festival has come a long way: After being both curator and catalyst for a lot of important subcultural and musical developments during the 80s, it got quiet around Atonal for a while afterwards. One might assume that both the fall of the Berlin wall as well as the massive buzz around German techno may have had something to do with it, but who knows.

Since 2013 the festival is back from its hibernation. And 2016 marks the festival’s fourth year at the Kraftwerk Berlin venue. Click here for details.
