Pre-Listen: James Place’s Interpretations of Superstition

James Place has made an impressive appearance with a cassette on Opal Tapes last year. Now he is about to release a wonderful tape via wonderful imprint Umor Rex. You can exclusively stream the release below.

Mexico City-based Umor Rex is a record-label-slash-publishing-house focussing on the more new age side of things happening these days. Recent releases include material by Shelter Press‘ Félicia Atkinson and the amazing collaboration between Kara-Lis Coverdale and LXV for example.

Up next is a tape release by Phil Tortoroli aka James Place, who has made an impressive appearance with his An Entire Matchbook A Night cassette on Opal Tapes last year. The release is called Interpretations of Superstition and consists of – well – five interpretations of his LP Living on Superstition released via Umor Rex earlier this year. The sixth track on the cassette is a remix of «Disney» from the above-mentioned collab between Coverdale and LXV Tortoroli has made.

The tape is out on September 1st. Until then you can exclusively stream it here.
