Mesh, a new festival for digital art and technology, is set to launch its inaugural edition at Freilager-Platz in Basel and Münchenstein. From October 16 to 20, over 100 artists, researchers, engineers, designers, and theorists will come together for this first edition, centered on the theme “Tooling the Future.”
The festival explores the creation of new and alternative tools for shaping a more inclusive future. Visionary makers from the global media art and tech community will participate in a two-day conference, while exhibitions will showcase works that challenge our relationship with technology and tools, offering fresh perspectives on technological progress.
A public discourse program invites participants to collectively imagine forward-thinking agendas for the future we need. The festival will also feature a diverse range of performances by artists such as Belia Winnewisser [see zweikommasieben #18] x Subrihanna, Joana Chicau (aka joana.art), Marco Donnarumma, Nonotak, Salomé Chatriot, Spime.im, and Sougwen Chung. And club nights will immerse festival-goers in cutting-edge electronic music from artists like atrice, Beatrice Dillon [see zweikommasieben #11], Manuel Fischer, and Tim Shatnyy.
And the best part: we’re giving away 2×2 festival passes! Simply fill out the form below and keep your fingers crossed.
The winners will be informed by Tuesday, October 15—just in time to book your train ticket to Basel.
