It’s a fast-paced but somewhat melancholic tune. Interspersed cymbals and a haunting drone may induce an atmosphere of mystique and transcendence, but fragmented voices and especially the vocal sample at the end manage to keep the track from taking off into otherworldly territories. “Godless” thus may stand almost programmatic for an album, that seems to document a passage from hectic club nights to an inner experience, as the press release suggests.
